Voice for The Community

Canada Jobs Podcast: Your Voice of Advocacy for Canadian Job Seekers.

I am Brandon Plunkett. I am not a career coach or a generic recruiter. My background includes a 30 year career spanning the public and private sectors, from small business ownership and consulting throughout North America, to leadership roles in BC Healthcare, Utilities and enterprise technology. I have sat in every seat of the hiring process: as a recruiter, a hiring manager for companies of all sizes, and a candidate for contract and permanent roles across sectors and provinces.I founded r/CanadaJobs and r/VancouverJobs in 2011 to bring a small town spirit of advocacy to the anonymous world of job seeking. My commitment to this community is personal. Whether acting as a BC Ambulance whistleblower to demand better healthcare standards or offering countless free resume reviews to help people find meaningful work, I have always believed in putting people before transactions. This podcast is the next step in that mission. I am using my experience to bridge the gap between job seekers and the systems failing or ignoring them. We move beyond my own perspective by bringing recruiters, hiring managers, and the policy makers responsible for systemic oversight to the microphone. By combining authentic storytelling, interviews that demand accountability, and the professional insights I have gained from decades of hiring and business leadership, this show provides the transparency and advocacy you deserve.
